U.S. wholesale inventories, sales edge up in July |

Inventories at the wholesale level gained in July and sales picked up momentum to slow a declining trend, the U.S. Department of Commerce said Friday.
Wholesale inventories rose 1.3 percent in July from the June level and were up 2.5 percent from a year ago, according to the latest figures.
Sales at the wholesale level added 0.6 percent in July from June, and soared 12.7 percent from a year earlier.
Sales of machinery, equipment and supplies surged 3.3 percent in July, a primary boost to the monthly sales gain.
Businesses' incentives of restocking store shelves was a major engine for the manufacturing and economic recovery in the United States. |
