Turkey's industrial output grows 8.6% in July |

Turkey's industrial production index rose 8.6 percent year-on-year in July, official data revealed Tuesday.
Compared with June, the index was down 0.3 percent, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a press release on its website.
The growth in July was 1.6 percentage points slower than that of June, according to the data.
Turkey saw annual industrial production slump 9.6 percent year- on-year in 2009, when gross domestic product value shrank 4.7 percent as a result of the global financial crisis.
Industrial activities started to resume this year as the economy spearheaded with an annual growth of 11.7 percent in the first quarter.
In July, the mining sector's production index decreased 3.1 percent year-on-year while manufacturing sector index went up 9.1 percent, the statistics showed. |
