A firm in northern Mexico became the first in the country approved to export fresh meat to South Korea, said the Agriculture Ministry on Monday.
The firm, based in Mexicali, capital of Baja California state, has been exporting frozen meat to South Korea since 2005, using the brand name Don Fileto, the ministry said in a statement.
The approval was granted because of the better look and taste of its fresh meat, a company official said.
The company currently exports 200 tons of frozen meat a month, and it also aims to export 150 tons of fresh meat a month next year, he said. |
