VIENNA, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Purchasing power among immigrant groups in Austria increases to 20 billion euros (about 25.98 billion U.S. dollars), about 13.5 percent of the total purchasing power, according to a new report from Regio Data Research on Wednesday.
In Austria, the number of immigrants is about 1.47 million, making up about 17.7 percent of the country's total population. The average of all ethnic groups living in Austria has a purchasing power of 17,880 euros.
Migrants from the former Yugoslavia have an average purchasing power of 13,000 euros per capita per year, while people from Turkey have in average of 10,400 euros.
The new study puts the annual average purchasing power per capita of immigrants in the EU and the European Economic Area ( EEA) per capita at 19,300 euros.
The EEA countries alone, including Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, have an average purchasing power per capita of 18, 700 euros. (1 U.S. dollar = 0.7697 euros) |
