BRUSSELS, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Business and consumer confidence in eurozone rose slightly in June after dropping 2.2 points in the previous month, according to a survey released on Tuesday.
The Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) for the 16-nation bloc sharing the euro went up by 0.3 points from May to 98.7 in June, said the survey conducted by the European Commission.
But in the 27-nation EU as a whole, the monthly indicator declined 0.1 points to 100.1, it said.
Regarding individual sectors, sentiment in industry declined by one point in the whole EU area due to more cautious production expectations and remained unchanged in the euro zone. Confidence in services increased by two points in the EU and by one point in the eurozone.
After a sharp decline in May, consumer confidence improved marginally in eurozone but remained unchanged in the EU. |
